2024 Climate Fest Kickoff Ride

Using bikes to get to school and around town can be an important climate action, so it was only fitting that Healdsburg’s 2024 Climate Fest kicked off with a community bike ride the Friday before Climate Fest.

About 50 riders took part, ranging in age from the youngest (who got to ride in mom & dad’s trailers) to over 80 – including a big contingent of primary school kids.

Many parents said they really appreciated the opportunity to ride with their kids in a group with ride marshalls to stop traffic and ensure safe passage through busy intersections and across Westside Road. This is one of the main reasons Move! Healdsburg was created – to allow families and seniors to enjoy safe cycling and walking and to work with the City to improve sidewalks and create safe streets for cycling, so active transportation becomes a way of life in Healdsburg.

After the ride, we met back at the Plaza for tasty food from Gloria and good sounds by DG Glitterfox. Thanks to all volunteers who made this event possible!

Don’t miss the Climate Fest 5k Fun Run and the Climate Fest itself, both on Sunday, April 21st! To see all upcoming events, visit: https://movehealdsburg.org/events
