Move! recap 2024 Climate Fest

Move! Healdsburg had a blast at the 2024 Climate Fest – and we hope you did, too! There was so much to see & do, eat & drink, learn & be inspired about…And the vibe was upbeat and supportive. We can do this!

Move! Healdsburg’s offerings included:

  • Electric bike info center and e-bike demos. Move! Healdsburg member Get-Away Adventures (Randy & Holly) staffed this booth and made it possible for many people to try an e-bike for the first time.

  • Another Move! member, Spoke Folk, brought a cargo e-bike for people to take a look at, demonstrating that it is possible to transport kids and groceries with by bike with ease. Many people in Europe have opted for such bikes instead of cars altogether.

  • Move! Healdsburg also provided information about our increasingly popular community walks and bike rides (with about 60 people opting in to receive info on upcoming events), as well as our efforts to advocate for safe streets for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • Our blender bike – which we were able to borrow from our friends at the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition (thank you!) – was a big hit. Young and old flexed their muscles to power a blender that made delicious smoothies for the rest of the crowd.

  • Eight lucky Climate Fest attendees won great prizes in the Move! Healdsburg raffle, donated by generous local businesses (see video for the prize drawing): four e-bike rentals (for 2 people each) from Getaway Adventures and Spoke Folk, a 1-month trial membership to Parkpoint Health Club, and three $100 gift certificates to put towards the cost of a refurbished bike from Community Bike. Congratulations to the lucky winners and thanks to all of our sponsors!

Using people power to get to school and around town can be an important climate action – plus it’s fun – so we hope to see more of that going forward!
