Ride into Summer 2024

It was an absolutely beautiful late May day and, for the first time, Move! Healdsburg offered two bike routes to choose from. The larger group had the ambition to hit the hills and ride up to Ridge Winery, while the rest chose a flat, 7-mile route (we heard through the grapevine that this was 6-year-old Daphne’s favorite ride so far).

One of the stars of the ride was a beautifully designed Faraday e-bike, which sparked a conversation with a passer-by, who used to work for the startup. Small world and great to see such spontaneous community connections!

The ride started and ended at the Healdsburg Community Center, and folks hung out there for awhile after the ride. Some extended the event with libations at Fogbelt Brewing Company and enjoyed the long, sunny evening on the back deck.

Mark your calendars for two other events coming up in June and July:

  • A June 14 Community Walk at our wastewater treatment facility with Utility Director Crowley and Water & Wastewater Superintendent Rob Scates, who will lead us on an educational stroll around 15 acres of recycled water ponds. You’ll be able to learn and ask questions about all aspects of our City’s water and wastewater systems.

  • The July 14 "Tour de Healdsburg” Community Bike Ride, brought to you in partnership with Enso Village. This is a chance to explore the nothern part of town, including Parkland Farms. Besides refreshments, participants will receive a surprise gift, so don’t miss it!

We also want to urge the entire Move! Healdsburg community to show up, learn about, contribute to, and support the City’s Active Transportation Plan, which will be presented on Wednesday, June 5th from 5-7 pm at the Healdsburg Community Center. This will lead to sidewalk improvements, better street crossings and more bike lanes – with your support!
